Last night was a whirlwind for our participants at the OJC Arts Festival!
James Zook competed against 7 other Monologues and received the Honorable Mention. They were competing against students from La Junta.
Jimmi Boyd and Rayelynn Landry performed a scene from Check Please, James Zook, Cailey Burns, and Sarah Van Vleet performed a scene from an Edgar Allen Poe Radio Play and won an Honorable Mention, and Kyla Whattler and Phoebe Frausto performed a scene from The Princess and the Pirate. They competed against 5 other scenes performed by students from La Junta and Swink.
James was awarded Best Actor Overall in the competition, the only one to be awarded.
Junior High Pure Gold will have a meeting for members on Wednesday during your lunch times. Please grab a disposable tray and meet in the Library.
Alex Torres, Rayelynn Landry, and Phoebe Frausto volunteered to aid in the backpack food program. A big thank you to them for helping out on their "remote day" to do some community service.

They will have 3 scenes and 1 monologue being performed by students. Students that are attending are
Kyla Whattler, Phoebe Frausto, James Zook, Laker Landry, Cailey Burns, Jimmi Boyd, Raelynn Landry, and our understudy is Sara Van Vleet in case anyone is unable to perform. Their drama teacher is Mrs. Amanda Vaughn.
