JH/HS Athlete of the Week
Athlete of the Week:
Athlete of the week for cross country is Layf Skadberg. Layf is starting off strong this year. He set a new PR in Lamar
this weekend and scored 8th overall. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings!
HS Volleyball: Naomi Burquez - Naomi is doing a great job. She is very coachable and willing to be flexible, playing in whatever
position we need her in and does so with a smile on her face. She works hard in practice and even stays late after practice
to continue to develop her skills. Keep up the good work Naomi!
HS Golf Athletes, Caleb Busenitz and Hunter Tomlin. They’ve represented our
school with class this season through steady effort, respectful conduct, and real competitive growth.
Hunter blends a strong competitive edge with real humility. He takes feedback on technique seriously, puts in extra
swing work, and in competition he slows himself down, stays patient and makes smart choices.
Caleb, meanwhile, is new to the sport and has shown a genuine willingness to grow. He brings a positive, team-first
attitude, asks thoughtful questions, acts on feedback, and that effort has led to quick, noticeable improvement. Both
young men support teammates and represent our program well. I thought it was important to share and to thank you for
supporting these students.
Spencer Monohan is our JH Athlete of the Week for continuing to sharpen her skills and grow with every opportunity on
the court. She recently recorded her first block and has been making huge strides as she learns, competes, and builds
confidence each week.
Athlete of the Week for HS Football:
For the game against Saint Mary's Josiah Martinez is our player of the game. Martinez ran for 185 Yds on 16 carries. Martinez also scored 3 touchdowns on Friday helping the Trojans win 44-12.
